Dr. Plazonic has worked in both academia and industry. While her background is pure and applied mathematics, she has also analyzed genomic data – microarrays, aspects of protein structure and regulatory networks. She has an extensive teaching experience, having taught mathematics and statistics courses for 10 years. Since 2014, she has used Apache Spark and the Hadoop ecosystem together with distributed machine learning for the purpose of solving large scale business problems such as automation of manual tasks and integrating disparate data sources into a single analytic platform.
