Open access to the Amarel Advanced Computing Cluster is now available
for all Rutgers researchers

The Office of Advanced Research Computing (OARC) is pleased to announce the commencement of open access to the Amarel compute cluster, effective immediately. Rutgers researchers who have purchased nodes through the condo model buy-in program will continue to have priority access, but the cluster is now open to the entire Rutgers research community on a first-come, first-served basis.

OARC anticipates that the greatest growth will occur within the condominium cluster as it will demonstrate the sustainability qualities that are essential for Rutgers to continue to provide its investigators with state-of-the-art resources for computationally demanding problems.

All interested researchers and students are encouraged to browse the Amarel User Guide. This contains both general information as well as specific guidance for developing and running jobs, types of hardware partitions and other useful tips.

For further information on gaining free general cluster access and specific details for current Perceval and HPCC account holders, please visit the General Access page on OARC’s website.
